Yin Yoga Workshops
Yin Aroma Yoga Workshop
5th September 7-9pm

This is a very special workshop. You will be creating your very own unique oil blend to use within class and something to take home with you. This could be a body or face oil, an inhalation or diffusion for your skin type/achy muscles/tummy rub/aching joint/uplifting/relaxing etc. This does mean that if you haven’t had aromatherapy with me before you will need to complete a form prior to the workshop. With the blend you’ve created you will inhale it as part of a meditation and use it throughout the Yin yoga class. The Yin yoga sequence will be a full body stretch that will finish with a Savasana.

Chakras
Working with chakras is a really nice way to bring awareness to different emotions and areas of the body linked in with each chakra. Chakras are energy centres within your body that each link to different emotions, body parts and organs. To function at their best your chakras need to stay open and balanced. If they get blocked or imbalanced you may experience physical or emotional symptoms.
There are hundreds of chakras in and around your body. there are 7 main chakras that affect your daily life. We will be using stretches, meditation, sound and crystals to open and balance each chakra.
Here is a brief breakdown of what each chakra represents:
Sound bowl healing
Sound healing has been used for thousands of years by various cultures throughout the world. It is the use of sound and vibration on or around the body to promote physical and emotional healing. When we let our brain waves drop from the everyday tasks into theta and delta wave states, our creative, nurturing aspects of the mind come into play more and the body’s natural healing ability is at its peak. Everything in life vibrates at different frequencies.
Each chakra connects with a different note and has its own vibration and frequency, and we will be using sound bowls to awaken each chakra using that frequency.

Crystals
Crystals are minerals formed underground with 3 dimensional repeating patterns. Each crystals mineral content, colour, shape and environment in which it grew decides its unique properties. Crystals have been used since ancient times for healing and protection.
It is thought that crystals work by turning kinetic energy into electric energy known as the piezoelectric effect. The energy field of a crystal interacts with the energy of the body and this can bring about a healing effect.
Crystals also have the power to hold energy. If we hold them with an intention it can carry it and this intention will then permeate any environment in which it is placed. Different crystals correspond with each chakra and are very effective for clearing and healing them. I will be introducing you to some crystals, we will be do some meditation with the crystals to see how you connect with them and how they make you feel.

Ashtanga Workshops
28th June- Ashtanga Yoga Inversion Workshop with Helen
9.30-11.30am at Loose Pavilion
£20 per session
Join Helen for a modified Ashtanga Practice with plenty of playtime – this month we’ll be turning things upside down! We’ll take time to explore the benefits of inversions, as well as techniques to work towards them, from the most simple and restorative, to the strength- and trust-building ones, like handstands and headstands. Whether you’re brand new to the more challenging inversions, or would like to learn to do them with more grace and confidence, there will be plenty to take away.
27th September- Ashtanga Yoga Half Primary Half Secondary with Alison
9.30-11.30am at Loose Pavilion
£20 per session.
Join Alison as she takes you through the primary series up to Navasana then a play with the first few postures of second series. Now don’t be scared- there are some lovely postures in the second series and we will be working with modifications and progression to help you achieve each posture in your own way, at your one level. Some of these postures will actually help you with your postures from the primary series. It’s always good to challenge your body in different ways. Nadi Shodhana is the name of the second series and it works on cleansing the energy channels and awakening the nervous system. I can’t wait for you to try it!
